Welcome to Mbizi

Only 22 Kilometers from the city center, Mbizi Game Lodge is submerged in the harmony of the African bush. 1 000 acres of privately owned, tranquil land, full of mystery and self contained cottages for the comfort of every visitor. Mbizi a truly unique experience.

There is room for every need at Mbizi. Our renovated old farm house for the visitor who likes to enjoy true African hospitality. The Lodge is exquisitely decorated in African decor and saturated with teak furnishings.

Mbizi Game Park is a true haven, a land on untouched wilderness where like the giraffe, zebra (mbizi), warthog and various antelope roam free. Be captivated by the mystery of the rock paintings left by early settlers in this enchanted African paradise.

Mbizi Game Reserve & Lodges is a privately owned establishment spanning over 1, 000 km2. A place that has been used as a "haven of peace and tranquility ..." Mbizi was built by Mervyn & Barbara Senior in 1991. The couple manages to turn a one-time old farm into a marvelous lodging house surrounded by pure wilderness.

The name "Mbizi" is the translation for Zebra in English. The name Mbizi brings about a sense of ethnic beauty and grace to the park. The buildings have been decorated with original railway sleeper on the inside. The five-meter long dining table in the guest's dining room of the main lodge. Mbizi also has bush cottages that are self catering, and are away from the main lodge area.

Mbizi has game drives and other outdoor activities. These include boat cruises, fishing, and particular interest is the new "KENGE" Team Building Course. To find out more click on Activites
