Byco (Space management systems) started business as N. BYFORD and Company (Pvt) Ltd in September 1958. It was founded by Norman Byford, the Chairman of Parker Pen of Britain. The sole objective of the company was to manufacture quality Heavy Duty racking, Harare commercial shelving and industrial shelving, Supermarket shelving, library shelving, lockers, Harare Office furniture, and equipment.
As the name N BYFORD and Company (Pvt) Ltd was too long, customers came up with BYCO as the abbreviation name and since then the name BYCO has been adopted. In July 1983 , BYCO was sold to Randalls Holdings and BYCO Industries became its trading name. In 2000, Randalls Holdings went into liquidation and all group companies were sold including BYCO. On the 1ST of March 2001, BYCO Industries changed its name to the current BYCO (PVT) LTD with more than 50years of experience in space management solutions in Zimbabwe.
