WGB Kinsey (Private) Limited had humble beginnings back in 1955 when William Gordon Bain Kinsey and his son Basil Jack Walter Kinsey, started a labor-based construction company with a pickup truck, a three-ton Chevrolet, a three-ton Bedford and two Ingersoll Rand compressions as their sole mechanical components.
A niche had been found in the construction market in what was called Salisbury, present-day Harare. The initial business focus was trenching and laying of electrical cable, later venturing into water reticulation, road works, township development, and earthen dam construction.
