Today we’re the third-largest cotton company in the country, employing 65 people and 650 seasonal workers across eight locations, and supporting 26,000 farmers.
Our success is down to our integrated cotton ginning business model, with an emphasis on being “shamwari yemurimi” – Shona for the ‘farmer’s friend’. We provide seeds, fertilisers and pesticides on credit to smallholders, and offer advice and support to help them get the best out of their crop. We guarantee to buy the cotton from them when it’s harvested. We then gin locally and export as lint.
