The 3rd of March marks #AfricaEnvironmentDay and Director General Bemanya Twebaze was honoured to attend and plant a tree at a #WangariMaathaiDay commemorative event.
The event was hosted by the Ambassador of Kenya to Zimbabwe, Her Excellency Stella Munyi and the Government of Zimbabwe at Harare's Greenwood Park.
The event which was held in honour of Nobel Laureate Prof. Wangari Maathai was attended by Heads of Diplomatic Missions and Government officials, with Hon. Mangaliso Ndlovu - Zimbabwe's Minister of Environment, Climate, Tourism & Hospitality as the Guest of Honour.
The Director General participated in the activity of the day by planting a ficus tree known as the weeping fig. The tree was named the #ARIPOInnovationTree showcasing ARIPO's commitment to encouraging and supporting #innovation for growth and development across Africa.
